  • Get copies of (or arrange for transfer at both ends of move) all school, medical, dental, veterinary, legal, and accounting records.
  • Contact insurance agents to transfer or cancel coverage.
  • If it's a company move, check with your employer to find out what moving expenses they cover.
  • Get a mail subscription for the local paper in your new location to familiarize yourself with the new community, its activities and issues.
  • Locate and obtain all automobile licensing and registration information.

  • Get an itemized list of all moving related costs and review with mover, including packing, loading, special charges, insurance, vehicles (if needed), etc.

  • Move valuables to safe deposit box to prevent loss during move.
  • If you are packing yourself, acquire packing materials/boxes and pack items you won't need for the next month.
  • If professional mover is packing your goods, schedule packing day(s) 1 or 2 days before move.
  • Prepare any mowers, snow blowers, boats, snowmobiles (or other vehicles you won't be using before the move) for the move by servicing and draining gas and oil, to prevent a moving van fire.
  • Repair, send out for re-upholstery, or clean furniture, drapes, carpeting as needed.

"We have used Deborah Harris to buy our last 2 houses and could not be happier. Despite her having multiple clients at any given time we always felt she treated us like her only one. she understood our needs and helped us find the perfect home. shes the best."

~ Baddorf

Deborah Harris is a highly organized and efficient person. Because of those qualities we were able to narrow the field of selections. Her knowledge of real estate law and procedure helped me avoid some of the pitfalls involved in this transaction. She recommended a management company and a closing attorney. Both of whom I found to be easy to work with and competent. I am a native New Yorker but for several reasons I choose Delaware to retire to. I was therefore looking for investment property and in the near future I will be looking for a personal home. Because of her professionalism and empathy, Deborah turned what could have been a disastrous and stressful project into a success. I would not hesitate to recommend her to my friends and family and I will be working with her to locate my personal residence in Delaware.

~ L. Blakely

Deborah Harris was recommended to me by a close friend 2-years ago and became my Real Estate Agent. Even though I was uncertain about moving from PA to DE, Deborah has shown me many houses over the past few years with patience and kindness during every visit. She helped me find and purchase my new home in DE in Sept. 2013. Deborah is very knowledgeable in the Real Estate business and has shared much needed information. She has provided excellent contacts to make this move a smooth transition. What I like most about Deborah is she never gave up on me over a 2-year period and always showed enthusiasm. Even after settlement, Deborah has responded quickly to any issues and concerns in my new home. Thanks to Deborah, house hunting has been a wonderful, exciting experience and I would absolutely recommend her to friends and family.

~ K. Harrell

I recently purchased a home and was sure glad that Deborah Harris was my Realtor. Having relocated from TX to DE, Deborah provided the highest possible level of professional and friendly service. I'm not an easy client to please and Deborah far exceeded my expectations as she tended to every detail and request. Deborah was responsive, attentive and she listened. I definitely recommend Deborah Harris to anyone requiring real estate services because she delivers and she's a great lady.

~ J. Morris

Deborah and Cindy have very professional and efficient work habits. Other clients of RE/MAX should be so lucky to have you serve them. Thank you for everything you have done and will do in the future.

~ B & M Wilder

Our experience working with Deborah was a pleasure. Deborah is very knowledgeable, organized and displayed a don't quit attitude in helping us find our dream home. Deborah Harris is very professional and we would highly recommend her to serve as your real estate professional.

Thank you for all of your hard work, guidance and patience with assisting me in finding a new home! I am very grateful to have had you as my realtor and consistently looking out to protect my best interests as my buyers agent. You truly go out of your way to assist the people you work with, and if I know of anyone who is looking to buy a home, I will be sure to refer them to you. Thanks so much and take care!

~ M. Wells

Deborah is a great agent! She is friendly, listens to what you are looking for, and above all, a true professional and pleasure to work with!

~ B. Beachell

Deborah Harris was extremely knowledgeable about the housing developments in the Delaware communities. Once she had a good understanding of the type of homes I was interested in she provided me with listings that were timely and relevant. I thought my home search was going to be an arduous task since I was looking from out of state. She made my search effort free. She also provided me access to individuals who helped with legal and financing issues. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to purchase a home in any locations she serves.

~ T. Roberts

I would highly recommend Deborah Harris. If it wasn't for Deborah neither the purchase nor sale of our homes would have happened. Her superior knowledge and ability to work through problems made it happen. You cannot go wrong with Deborah.

~ J. Bramble

Our selling experience with you was excellent. Deborah Harris was great. I would recommend her to anyone

~ C. Hubbard

We found the Triple Platinum Team to be professional, reliable and understanding of our circumstances. With the market conditions and our personal situation, Deborah actually made our situation less challenging, because we needed a Realtor we could trust and who would really do the work for us. Deborah's knowledge of the market helped us to sell our home quickly.

~ L Takashi

A true professional in all aspects of the word. From the first day I met Deborah she exhibited knowledge, finesse and a good head for business. Deborah always remained informative and positive throughout the selling process and would keep me abreast of any updates, changes and issues. I highly endorse and recommend Deborah Harris and would definitely use her again.

~ R. Rucker

Deborah, I really appreciate all of the work you did to get my house sold. You stuck with it during a difficult process. I didn’t know how difficult a short sale could be, but you got me through it with no stress. Thanks!

~ O. Whiteside

This is our second transaction with Deborah Harris. She is extremely knowledgeable, hard working, and will go above and beyond to provide the best service. I highly recommend her.

~ M. Regan, Delaware

I highly recommend choosing Deborah Harris as your realtor. We met Deborah as a result of one of her listings. She listed our home for sale, sold it within a reasonable timeframe and thanks to her unrelenting support, my husband and I have found our dream home and I am sure that with her help, you could find that special place as well."
